The story: “Twisted Tails” is a collection of the first 32 Downward Spirals comic strips. The Downward Spirals are, of course, a team of hockey playing opossums that never seems to get anywhere in their effort to dominate the Meadow Hockey League.
What’s that? You’re not a hockey fan? Well, never fear. Most of the jokes are about being on a team that doesn’t do so well, not about the intricacies of lacing up your skates just right.

Bonus Material: Aside from the 32 Downward Spirals comic strips, you also get five bonus comics! Housed in the center spread of the comic is a amusingly violent “Poodles vs. Penguins” sequence. As icing on the cake, there’s also four full-color “Long Job” comics.
Get a Sketch Card: For an additional charge you can even order a Downward Spirals sketch card. This card is totally original art and created only as they are ordered. When you place your order, John Simcoe will draw and ink a Spirals character just for you on a baseball-sized card. When he’s done, he’ll mail it along with your order. They work great as bookmarks and there’s even a collectible market for original art cards just like these. (Just search ACEO or ATC on eBay for some samples from other artists.)
The story behind the story: This collection of comics was written and drawn by me, John Simcoe. I was first introduced to hockey in college through the Sega Genesis and a few live games hosted by the Buffalo Sabres. From that, my love of the game began. Am I some sort of hockey historian? No. Am I a huge fan of one particular team? Nope. I just enjoy watching it and I even like to pull on my Roller Blades and fire a few shots. This is my second full comic (and you can order a combo pack to get both my comics). Finally, creating comics is something I do for fun and is always a learning process. Characteristics:
The comic measures 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches, so it’s what is considered a
mini comic. It has 40 pages, which includes the cover. The cover is
color with black-and-white interior. Since the base price is $4, that means you’re just paying 10-cents a page!
