A study of the Son of Vulcan

Last year, DC Comics re-introduced one of the characters they acquired from their purchase of Charlton Comics back in the 1980s. The Son of Vulcan was originally developed back in 1965 by writer-editor Pat Masulli and artists Bill Fraccio and  Tony Tallarico. By many accounts, the character was a knock-off of Marvel Comics’ Thor.

The new Son of Vulcan series features an all-new character with some very minor ties to the Charlton character.

As a Charlton Comics fan, I couldn’t help but be interested in exploring the two versions of the character, so over the next few weeks, I’ll try to provide a glimpse of the new and old Son of Vulcan, including an accurate run down of their histories, abilities, friends and foes.
